# Balance Alerts

Balance alerts help account owners monitor the available Credit and respond before the balance becomes insufficient.

## Availability

:::{note}
Configuration steps are available only when Billing Center provides an enabled **Balance Alerts** entry for the current account.
:::

If the entry is unavailable, the feature has not been enabled for the account. CloudSigma does not document a configuration procedure until the setting can be opened, saved, and verified.

## What a balance alert controls

When the feature is available, the console can provide the following settings:

| Setting | Purpose |
| --- | --- |
| Alert status | Enables or disables the alert |
| Credit threshold | Defines the balance that triggers a notification |
| Notification channel | Determines where the alert is delivered |
| Recipients | Identifies the people or teams that receive the alert |

Use the labels and available values displayed in the current console. Thresholds and notification channels can vary by account or region.

## Monitor the balance without an alert

Until Balance Alerts is available:

1. Open **Billing Center > Cost Overview**.
2. Review the current Credit balance.
3. Compare recent consumption with the remaining balance.
4. Open **Usage Details** when consumption changes unexpectedly.
5. Add Credit before the balance becomes insufficient.

For more information, see [View costs and usage](https://omnifabric.cloudsigma.com/docs/guides/billing/cost-and-usage.html.md) and [Top up Credits](https://omnifabric.cloudsigma.com/docs/guides/billing/manage-billing.html.md).

## Verify an alert

After the feature becomes available and you save an alert:

- confirm that the alert status is enabled;
- review the configured threshold and recipients;
- use a supported test action when the console provides one;
- confirm that the notification was delivered through the selected channel.

Do not copy thresholds from another CloudSigma account without comparing its workload and consumption pattern.
