# Monitoring

Use **OmniFabric > Monitoring** to review the operating metrics of a database instance.

## Review instance metrics

1. Open **Monitoring**.
2. Select the database instance from the instance selector.
3. Select the time range you want to investigate.
4. Review the metric charts for changes that occurred during that period.
5. If a chart shows an unusual change, compare its time with entries under [Alert Logs](https://omnifabric.cloudsigma.com/docs/guides/matrixone/alert-logs.html.md) and [Events](https://omnifabric.cloudsigma.com/docs/guides/matrixone/events.html.md).

The metrics and time ranges available on this page depend on the selected instance and the current CloudSigma release. Use the names and values displayed in the console when recording an incident.

Monitoring data may be aggregated and can arrive later than the activity that produced it. When diagnosing a recent issue, refresh the page and compare several related metrics over the same time range.
